Dr. Sreejith Rajan

Dr. Sreejith Rajan is a researcher and technologist working in the areas of intelligent healthcare systems, biomedical instrumentation, embedded sensing technologies, and translational medical engineering. He currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Director of Research & Development at Cavira Innovations, where he leads the development of advanced healthcare technologies integrating embedded systems, biomedical sensing, portable diagnostics, and AI-assisted healthcare platforms.

He received his Ph.D. from Griffith University, Australia in 2020 for his research on liquid marble-based digital microfluidic systems conducted at the Queensland Micro and Nanotechnology Centre (QMNC). He also holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Instrumentation and Applied Physics from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India.

Dr. Rajan’s research lies at the intersection of biomedical engineering, microsystems technologies, embedded electronics, sensing systems, and decentralized healthcare technologies. His work focuses on the development of intelligent and deployable healthcare systems integrating biomedical instrumentation, microfluidics, fluorescence and imaging-based diagnostics, wearable sensing technologies, embedded control systems, and portable healthcare devices for point-of-care and resource-limited healthcare applications.

He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact international journals and conferences, with research contributions spanning digital microfluidics, portable molecular diagnostics, biosensing systems, wearable healthcare technologies, and intelligent biomedical instrumentation. His research has been recognized internationally through Featured Article and Editor’s Pick selections by journals of the American Institute of Physics (AIP), and several of his works have been highlighted in global scientific media platforms including Nature Index, AIP Scilight, and Photonics Review.

In 2023, Dr. Rajan was awarded the Griffith University Postdoctoral Fellowship (GUPF-2023). During his doctoral studies, he received both the Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (GUIPRS) and the Engineering Postgraduate Research Scholarship (ENGPRS). He was also awarded the AICTE–MHRD Scholarship during his M.Tech studies at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.

As a researcher, innovator, and technology leader, Dr. Rajan actively works toward bridging academic research and real-world healthcare deployment through interdisciplinary engineering approaches. His long-term vision is to contribute toward next-generation intelligent healthcare technologies that are portable, connected, accessible, and capable of supporting decentralized diagnostics, wearable healthcare, remote monitoring, and smart biomedical systems.
